Ms. Sherman is a fifth-generation Colorado native.  She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in English: Creative Writing from Colorado College, a Master’s in Elementary Education from Grand Canyon University, and is a Certified Behavioral Analyst through TTI SI in Scottsdale, AZ.  She spent the past several years working closing with K-8 students to promote social-emotional growth, set and achieve learning goals, and providing individualized challenges to advanced and creative learners.

Prior to that, she trained employees and business leaders to develop great teams and positive cultures, facilitate effective communication, and resolve customer service concerns.

She developed training systems for businesses in a variety of industries, many of which are based in the Colorado Springs area. She even wrote a book on foundation repair technology.  In her free time, she enjoys playing Dungeons & Dragons, spending time with her family, knitting, reading (or watching science fiction), and going to the zoo.  Her favorite animal is an okapi and her third favorite color is navy blue.

PERSONAL PROFESSIONAL DISPOSITIONS

The purpose of this video is to demonstrate my understanding of my own dispositions, both strengths and weaknesses, and my understanding of how those dispositions will change as I receive feedback from students, mentors, evaluators, and my community.

PERSONAL TEACHING PHILOSOPHY

This video discusses the ways in which my teaching philosophy has developed and grown throughout student teaching, including examples. It includes a description of how technology can be used to create better learning opportunities for all students. Finally, I discuss strategies for bringing compassion, promoting student empowerment and flourishing, and behaving legally and ethically in my future classroom.
